6 weeks to a New Skin!

Do you want to achieve baby-perfect skin without makeup or photoshop or surgery in just 6 weeks?
My 6 weeks of skin repair and habit reformation has been initiated! Finally... tehehee

A brief summary of what's going on:
Your body is constantly replacing cells. It takes 4 to 6 weeks to replace all your skin cells. New skin absorbs nutrients from skincare better and just looks much better too.  However, you can only achieve this if you take good care of it via the following aspects:

1) Diet
2) Skin care routines
3) Workout
4) A few extra stuffies

1) Diet

There are some vital concerns regarding the relationship between our skin and the food we eat (not to mention the actual food and their nutrient content). Your body uses the nutrients it absorbs from food for your main organs in order to survive. This means your skin is the last to recieve some nutrients for it to absorb and benefit from. So consuming enough nutrients is vital. With that said, we can move onto the next problem. Our food today is processed and/over overcooked, and even if you grow it yourself, the soil isn't as fertile as it should be. Therefore today's food contain more calories than actual nutrients. On top of that, our bodies need a variety of minerals and vitamins that it certainly won't get with only selected foods which doesn't (in the portions we eat it) provide us with the RDA% our bodies need. You would have to eat everything natural and consumeable under the sun three times a day! Imagine what your weight would be after that! *scary*
Ok, I think I mentioned "food" and "nutrients" about a hundred times... haha

This is why I trust Herbalife! *^^* No, I'm not marketing. I'm only telling you the truth. My mommy's team let me climb on some special scale and worked out my body fat % and all that. It turns out I need 44g of protein. Protein is important for cell regeneration.
So this is what my current daily diet looks like (without much reference to a time frame):

☆ 2L water (1L lemon juice, 500mL water and 500mL Herbalife Aloe Beverage)
☆ 2 Herbalife Protein Bars (chocolate and peanut)
☆ 1 Herbalife Express Bar (berries and yogurt or chocolate and honey)
☆ A fruit or two (preferably an apple or a mango)
☆ Dinner: A well-balanced meal - whatever my granny cooked (always delicious and healthy)! It basically consists of meat, veggies, potatoes and/or rice, and salad.

2) Skin Care Routines

source: http://xiaohuibaby.blogspot.com/2012/08/mentholatum-hada-labo-sha-review.html

Y'all know you have to wash your face twice a day, right? With that checked, here's my current night and morning skin care routines:

Morning Routine:
☆ Olive oil cleansing
☆ Splash of cold water
☆ Eye serum
☆ Hadalabo Gokujyun Lotion
☆ Herbalife Radiant C Booster (serum)
☆ Hadalabo Gokujyun Milk
☆ Sunblock (SPF50+) - I'm saving for Hadalabo's UV milk!
☆ Dab Vaseline on sores and scabs

Evening Routine (after shower):
☆ Hadalabo AHA & BHA Foamin cleanser with Sasatinnie Facial Cleansing Brush (every other day)
☆ Herbalife Nourifusion MultiVitamin Exfoliator (instead of abovementioned exfoliation)
☆ Aloe Vera ice massage
☆ Splash of cold water
☆ Eye serum
☆ Hadalabo Gokujyun Lotion
☆ Herbalife Radiant C Booster (serum)
☆ Hadalabo Gokujyun Milk
☆ Herbalife SkinActivator Collagen Night Cream

3) Workout:

I have to admit that I often skip this due to lack of time and... I need to stop giving excuses. You guise know how much I love Herbalife, so here's a short, easy workout that will have you sweating out impurities and toning your body in minutes! Oh, exercising also helps with blood circulation and helping your skin absorb oxygen. It's also necessary for a healthy and functioning thyroid. Let's begin! All credit for this video and workout plan goes to Herbalife and Samantha Clayton.

4) Extra stuff:

Your bodily skin, hair and nails are just as important! Here are some simple reminders of things you could do to better your overall natural appearance...

☆ Indulge in a bath every week. Add some herbs, essential oils, and/or kitchen consumeables into your hot bath. Some interesting ideas would be a Hydrotherapy bath which contains 1/2 cup Pure Aloe gel, 2L Fresh (preferably deepsea) Seawater and/or seaweed/kelp, 1/4 cup Deadsea Salts. Or perhaps try ading 2 to 4 Green Tea bags, 1/2 cup natural Lemon juice, and a few drops of your favourite essential oil(s).
☆ Treat your hair to a hair mask once a week. You can buy one at your local Clicks store or you could make your own out of Olive and Argan oils. You could use Sweet Almond and Sunflower oil as well. If you're brave, you could make an olive oil and avocado mix too!
☆ Body Buffers! Buffing your legs daily (or even weekly in that special bath) will make your skin baby-soft and smooth. It might prevent ingrown hair as well. Herbalife has a leg buffing scrub that I'm dying to try out!
☆ File your nails a teeny tiny bit once a week or every other week to ensure they won't chip, break or tear off. Remember the cuticle oil!
☆ Scrub your back once in a while to fight backne!! *grumble grumble* It might be helpful if you asked your mom or someone close to you to scrub your back for you.
☆ Also, perhaps the most important part... DON'T PICK AT YOUR FACE! kekeke

With that, I'm leaving you to draw your own conclusion. If you're going to join me on this quest for flawless skin, please comment below and let's motivate eachother to keep fighting!

Hope we all get magical results! 加油!

{ review } Tamagohada AHA & BHA foam wash

Hi, my lovelies!

Happy Friday! I’ll be celebrating mine with Hada Labo’s Tamagohada AHA and BHA exfoliating foam wash! As you all know, I have to give you a reason to visit me, so I did some research:

What is AHA and BHA exfoliators? They are both used as chemical peels and my Spa friend (I can’t call her anything else, but she owns Spa Marine) said they are fruit acids. Now, I know there are fruit acid peels that eat off the top layer of your skin and can thus be VERY dangerous to use every day, but my research proved otherwise.
The following snippets are taken from a cool informative site that you can find here  <- clicky!

  • AHAs are preferred for sun-damaged and dry skin because they exfoliate on the surface of skin and have the added benefit of also improving moisture content.
  • BHA is preferred for oily, acne-prone skin and for treating blackheads and white bumps because BHA can get through the oil that's clogging your pores, normalizing the lining of the misshapen pore that contributes to acne.
  • BHA has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial action. Those are two more reasons to use a BHA exfoliant if you have acne or sensitive, reddened skin.
  • BHA is preferred for those struggling with rosacea. Not everyone with rosacea can tolerate an exfoliant, but it is wise to experiment with a BHA product to see how your rosacea responds. It is quite likely you'll see less redness and a smoother, more even skin with fewer breakouts.

A little extra on scrubs:

Scrubs are certainly an option for exfoliating your skin, but they have limitations you don't have to worry about with an AHA or BHA exfoliant. Scrubs only deal with the very top, superficial layer of skin while most of the unhealthy, built-up skin cells are beyond the reach of a scrub. What is most problematic is that many scrubs have a rough, coarse, uneven texture that can cause skin damage by tearing into the skin as it abrades away the surface, causing tiny tears that damage the skin's barrier. Scrubs often cause more problems than they could possibly solve.
If you do want to use a manual scrub, you can simply use a gentle washcloth with your daily cleanser, which works just as well to exfoliate the surface of skin as any cosmetic scrub you can buy. As a bonus, washcloths are softer (thus gentler) and of course they don't contain pore-clogging ingredients that oily, acne-prone skin doesn't need.

The packaging is cute and rather simple in comparison with other Asian brands. As mentioned with my previous Hada Labo review, this is reassuring since you’ll be paying for your product instead of excessive packaging. I don’t mind adorable and elaborate packaging! Don’t get me wrong! It’s just comforting to know, because I can imagine the science and the ingredients couldn’t be cheap.

The texture is... well, foamy. And it smells somewhat medicinal with a hint of something floral upon first application, but later on it smells like vomit. Yup! You heard right. I’m washing my face with magic puke-scented foam.

The scent is bearable, because it’s faint and because it really is magic! I’ve always had trouble with the texture of my skin. I’ve been using it daily for a week now and my skin texture has improved tremendously. Perhaps the smell isn’t that bad? Maybe I just don’t like the smell of eggs? I don’t know, but some reviews claims it smells like boiled eggs. It is “egg”- squisite after all!

All in all~

Good:
> Does improve texture of my skin
> It’s nice and foamy and thus reaches inside my pores effectively
> AHA and BHA are effective, but gentle exfoliators – it doesn’t tingle at all
> The pump is quite hygienic

Bad:
> It smells bad
> The bottle was leaking, but I blame sasa.com for this.

It might be a bit drying for some, just use a moisturizer (with SPF) thereafter. I use this at night, so sun-damage doesn’t bother me, but if you’re going to use it in the mornings please wear a good sun cream as well? Exfoliators slough off old skin, that’s why the new skin needs protection.

Thanks for reading! If you’re hesitant about purchasing it now, don’t worry about the smell. The good points outweigh the bad! I recommend this product to everyone with skin texture problems and white heads.

{ review } Hada Labo’s Gokujyun SHA Lotion & Milk

Hi, my lovelies!

Todays product is Hada Labos Gokujyun Super Hyaluronic acid (SHA) Lotion and Milk. First off, I was *very* excited to receive these products in the mail and I cant tell you how happy I am to own them! Warning: This post is lengthy, because Hada Labo SHA Lotion and Milk might be my HG products where moisture is concerned!

The lotion:
One SHA Lotion is sold every 4 seconds in Japan, and with that and the fact that Japanese women are renowned for their natural beauty, I couldnt stay away any longer! My bestie, Shelvi (from www.xiaovee.com) was present at their launch in Indonesia and she told me all about the products and what it can do for you. Of course, I did some research as well before my final decision. Try googling Hyaluronic acid before and after! Its amazing!
Did you know Softlips are made by the same company, ROHTO Phramaceuticals?

Heres the introduction video Ive been watching and rewatching until I got my own:

It claims to hydrate your skin one drop locks up an ocean. Of course I cant read anything, because everything is in kanji and hiragana, but according to other reviews it really does its job well. I have yet to read a negative review about this baby!

With that said, the package is pretty simple and cute (but not over the top). I like it, because it reassures me that ROHTO Pharmaceuticals didnt spend more money on the packaging than the product. The Lotion comes in a 170ml bottle and the Milk comes in a 140ml bottle.

Shelvi told me to take it slow and work into the products gradually as my skin might become over-hydrated, but did I listen? Nooo... *facepalm*
Upon first application my skin was so soft! I wanted to touch it all the time, but it wasnt as smoothe as I wanted it to be. So, my hands ended up scratching at my blemishes... > n <
Thats why I have marks all over my face now (not to mention more pimples) its not the products! My skin didnt over-hydrate, but Im taking it slow for now anyway. Better safe than sorry, right?

The Lotions texture is like a cross between a serum and a toner. You use it after cleansing your face (instead of a toner) and pat-pat it into your skin until its been fully absorbed. You only need 2 to 4 drops and it will cover your entire face (and neck). It absorbs quite fast, especially when its hot or when I just came out of a shower.
The scent is almost medicinal, but not too strong. I really love it it feels as if Im doctoring my skin! ^ w ^

You cant see a difference. Its not one of those products that I can show you before and after pictures (which was very frustrating while I was debating to buy it or not). However, you can feel the difference after just one use!

The Milk:
I only apply it before bed, because I still find it to be a bit too hydrating. I also use it when my skin feels slightly dry or traumatized. Id like to try the UV milk instead, to be honest, and perhaps the sensitive range too. I have noticed when I use both these products in the morning every day, tiny bumps form on my skin (it looks like theyre filled with water). They go away quite fast though - so no worries.

The texture is a misture of a serum and a moisturizer I take it thats how emulsions feel like? Anyhow, there is barely any smell at all and it leaves my face with a healthy shine! Which I love, by the way. It doesnt make my face anymore oily than it already is

I really love using these two! I can use the Lotion as my final (and only) moisturizing product for my day time routine and my skin stays fresh without drying out. My first reaction to the duo was: Nyaaaa~~ So soft! ^ 3 ^ lol

Im sorry for the lack of pictures once again, but I do hope this post was informative! If you live in South Africa (near me, prefferably) and dont have a Paypal account to purchase it yourself, contact me and let me know if you want to go about a joint order. I will definitely repurchase these!

Also, before I forget, the seller Pandax1024 @ eBay has extremely safe and fast shipping! The products were delivered within 2 weeks way faster than normal eBay sellers. This is also the only seller that offers free shipping for Hada Labo products to South Africa on eBay. *happy*

Thats all for now, have a great Tuesday!

{ diary } Shopping Updates

Hi, guise!

We (the household) went shopping today and I bought two items I really love! One is a black blazer and the other is a blouse (along with Hello Kitty slippers FTW). I've always worn jeans and T-shirts and/or hoodies without much thought. My only objective was to look cute and hug-able, but now that University is around the corner I want to fix my style up a bit. Of course, there's nothing wrong with wearing whatever, but I thought I might as well get something cute and elegant for a change.

What do you think? c:

I also received my Hada Labo SHA lotion and milk, but my skin is a bit touchy at the moment. The Hada Labo products seemed to get the surface pimples to calm down, but a lot of deep, sore ones have been pushing their way through and it worries me. I can't blame the products though - I haven't been eating well (skipping meals due to nausea) or drinking my 2 liters of water a day. On top of that, my hands won't leave my skin alone. So I'm really sad about it, BUT...

*pause for effect*

I also ordered Hada Labo's AHA & BHA foam cleanser and 4 Sasatinnie Facial Cleansing brushes from Sasa.com. I'm still waiting for them to arrive - they should be here within a week or two. That's another thing that surprised me. The Hada Labo products arrived surprisingly fast for eBay purchases! I'm really happy about this ^^

Anyhow, that's all for tonight. I'm researching Glowelle Beauty drinks with the idea of making my own - since hardly anything is available in South Africa.

Sweet dreams, lovelies!
xoxo
